   I had been second guessing this purchase since I made it. About a week after it was marked as shipped with no other updates on tracking, I messaged the seller and within ~5 minutes they replied and said the tracking would show up when it arrives. The prompt reply bolstered my confidence. The tracking never did update, but the package did arrive on the first day of the cited delivery range despite this and the tariff chaos.Having checked tracking daily for a week, I was surprised and happy when it unexpectedly arrived today. Still, as others naturally are, I was skeptical that it was real for this price. I resell used leather goods, so I am very experienced with this and even after a few minutes I was still skeptical. The reality is that they do a very good job hiding & protecting the hides. This makes it difficult to see the actual leather, but it’s there. Here’s how I can confirm its real and how you can too:1. Burn test like they recommend – it turned to ash and smelled like burnt hair – synthetics when burned behave like plastic, because they are plastic.2. Variations in hair curliness, spots of matting, clear variation in hair from different sheep when inspected closely3. Inspecting where the hair meets the hide you can see that the pattern where it meets the hide is very naturally patterned, not a grid like you’d expect for machine made faux fur. I can tell it is real chrome tanned leather, but this is difficult to identify from the fur side.4. lay it flat then place a thin sheet or blanket over it to create a flat-ish surface. As you glide your hand over the sheet you can feel the subtle ridges between the hides5. Inconsistent stitching shows it’s stitched by hand, not pattern, which would be required to accurately stitch together hides that are never identical.6. Sheepskin is plentiful outside of the US where sheep are raised for meat, so it’s not as rare or expensive as people think, especially Americans.7. To conduct the burn test, I had to cut out some fur, pulling out a tuft by hand was too difficult.I purchased this to finish off my DIY mattress. My mattress layers :8″ springs, 3″ springs, 2″ latex foam (13″ total) inside of a 15″ tall mattress cover. The picture shows it as 3″ tall and I only had 2″ of space remaining. In reality, it only needs about 1.5″ of vertical space, so I was easily able to fit it inside the cover. Because my last mattress was too soft, I was worried adding this topper would make it too soft. On the contrary, it actually made it notably firmer and also surprisingly distributed my weight a bit better so that I no longer feel the springs. This seems to be because of the backing, which seems to include a very thin layer of foam which gives the mat some structure and smooth the edges of the hides.Probably the only unexpected downside is that where the hides meet is a bit more noticeable while laying on it than I expected. That’s just what you’re going to have to deal with if you get a sheepskin topper, not something unique to this topper, I think it’s something I’ll get used to, not something that will cause issues.Gonna be looking into those seat covers now lol.

   First off, I never buy things that don’t have reviews.Dibs: this item is soooooo nice, clean, it’s real you can smell the sheeps linolin from the skin. It’s soooooo soft, I slept like a baby on it, and again like a baby.. it’s like a fuzzy cloud that’s soft and cozy. There was very few tangles in the fur, and it’s just simply the most beautiful thing ever.I am absolutely in love with this. It’s a steal at the price given the thickness and plush. It’s also full square meaning the measurements aren’t wide point to wide point. It is very true to the advertisement. And I REGRET NOTHING!
