My 12-month-old daughter hated her crib so much that I transitioned her to sleeping on a mattress on the floor. She’s been walking since 9 months and seemed to be smart enough to figure out to go to her bed to sleep, and it worked pretty well. After a few months though, I started to feel like she should have a bed to keep the mattress up off the ground a little bit. We have vinyl floors and the mattress kept moving away from the wall and creating a gap, and I thought a bed frame would help hold the mattress in place. I didn’t want to get a specialized toddler bed because those tend to be rated for only 65 pounds and I like being able to sit on the bed next to her to read her some books before bedtime. I’d much rather set her up with a twin bed that she can sleep in for many years. This bed looked perfect with its padded top to keep her from hitting her head against the wall. When I first put it together, it was obviously too tall. She could get onto it with some difficulty, but the very first thing she did was stand up on it and almost fall off. I didn’t really trust her to be in her room alone on this bed.But then I realized that the feet were all separate pieces! I took the mattress back off of it, turned the bed over, and unscrewed all of the feet. Now it’s sitting on the floor just fine and is just the right height for her. I packed the feet and screws into the smallest size Amazon box I had lying around, so that I can pull them out of storage and install them in a few years once she’s bigger. It looks really cute, too!

We ordered this twice. The first time UPS lost it, this time we finally got it. This is to be a new bed for my 2 year old. The original plan was to have it on the floor so that she doesn’t fall far. Luckily that was what we wanted, because our bed was missing the 2 middle side legs. These are meant to hold the 2 halved of the bed together. It’s not a big deal since we want it on the floor, but beware if you’re planning to use it as a real bed. It has a low weight rating of 250lb as well, so don’t plan to cuddle with older children on this!I will say that aside from the missing piece, this bed was incredibly easy to assemble.
