   The seller contacted us shortly after making the purchase to confirm shipping address and provide us the shipping details since it arrives on a pallet. We received it with four days in four boxes nicely packaged and shrink wrapped. Two of the boxes are large and heavy so the seller recommends two people to carry it. I was able to use a dolly to move them into the house. Everything was well packaged and marked with the exception of which box held the hardware and building instructions. Taking my time it took me about three hours to put everything together. You’ll need help on a few of the steps, like moving the upper section of the cabinet onto the base, and installing the doors. For the most part, the instructions were easy to follow. The cabinet looks and feels like a solid piece of furniture. We got the 8” mattress, which I recommend. Give it a couple of days to expand and air out, because it has that chemical smell when you take it out of the packaging. The size of the screws used for the door hinges are a little concerning, but only time will tell how they hold up. This bed will only be used occasionally, so we haven’t used it for guests yet. I did lay on it for a few minutes and it seemed comfortable. It will definitely be an upgrade to the air mattress we used in the past.

   We were surprised to receive a call to confirm the order and clear directions for what to expect and an estimated time for shipping. We received a call from the shipper confirming delivery and on time. Bed was easy to put together with clear instructions. Solid wood, looks great. No damage. Not cheaply made. All pieces there. Memory foam mattress comfortable. No regrets! NOTE: The mattress takes a day or so to fully expand.

   A few things to carefully consider before you buy this:1. It requires 11 feet of clear wall space to be able to open and fold back the doors as designed. We did not realize that when we ordered, and barely had enough room for it. If you have less than that it might be possible to use it with one door folded back and the other open, but along the side of the bed…but it would make it much harder to get in and out of, or to make, or to open and close.2. It is big, and heavy, and very hard to move. And as a practical matter, it would be very hard to return. It would have to be disassembled just to get it out of the room; never mind repacking it. As others have noted it comes very carefully packed in several large boxes on a heavy-duty pallet.3. If you order it with the 8″ mattress it will be harder to open up and to put away than what is shown in the video with the 6″ mattress. It does work with the 8″ mattress, but requires more effort to get it in and out of the cabinet properly.4. Because it is a large piece, it can overwhelm a small room. We have it in a 12′ x 12′ room, and it does take up more space when it is closed that would be taken by a murphy bed in the wall.5. As others have noted, it does not pull out easily on carpet. It does work on low pile carpet, but would be better on a hard floor.I have given it 4 stars because it is quite well made, looks nice, and is reasonably comfortable as a bed. Recent guests preferred it to softer beds that we had in another room. It comes very well packaged, and is not hard to assemble if you have some experience and follow directions. I have it in a home office, and use the top as a stand-up desk for sorting papers, folding clothes etc. That is useful.Bottom line: If you have the space for it, like the looks, and understand what you are getting, you may be very happy with it. If you think you are getting a simple solution for a small space, you may be disappointed.

   This is a very nice, well built Murphy Bed. It was easy to put together, my husband and I put it together and we didn’t even get angry with each other. The bed had no dents or scratches on it and the tobacco color is very nice. The shop owner called to inform us when it was shipped. Very pleasant man. The value for the money is excellent

   I am 80 years old and can no longer do all the assembly kinds of work. We have a local handy man, that is quite handy and did all the unpacking and assembly. Took him 3 hours to put it together and positioned for us. The mattress came in a vacuum sealed plastic bag, 6 layers thick, probably to assure that it doesn’t expand while in shipping. Unrolled and laid out it took about 24 hours for all the minute air pockets in the memory foam to refill. We had to adjust the mattress cover slightly to assist in the “recovery”. This is the 8-inch mattress, thicker and better than the typical 6-inch from most brands. It is a tight fit to squeeze in back into the cabinet, but worth the effort for our visitor’s comfort. Beautiful piece of furniture and definitely a space saver to enable us for a more comfortable space for the visitors.
