Purchased as a gift for my best friend.Needed it to keep the mattress warm when visiting.

I run cold. During the winter if my partner isn’t going to bed at the same time I lie in bed and can’t go to sleep for hours sometimes because I just can’t warm up. This thing saves me! It’s SO NICE to get into bed and have it not be freezing. I usually just use the “preheat” function as I’m getting ready for bed and then turn it off when I get in, it gets the bed warm enough for me to fall asleep. I’ve only had it for about a month so I’m not sure how it will hold up over the long term. I actually put a regular mattress pad over top this one to avoid sweating into it or having to wash it too often. I still feel the heat just fine.

We are very happy with this Sunbeam heated mattress pad. We have used it for 2 winters now. The quality and durability seem very good. We really like the pre-heat feature and the automatic turn-off after 10 hours. The extra long cords are long enough to put the plug-end at the foot of the mattress, yet power and control cords go nicely under the bed to the top of the bed area where they are needed, with no hassle. The lighted indicators on the controls are dim, and aren’t a nuisance at night, which is very nice, since they sit on the bedside tables right by our heads. We also appreciate the dual controls/heating, as my husband and I have different cold/heat comfort levels. I don’t know how to measure / rate energy efficiency, but my guess is that electrical usage is minimal. We are on a new, tiered electrical plan since we purchased this, and we see no impact on our electricity usage, even though this winter has been one of the coldest our region has had in more than 50 years. This was very worthwhile purchase for us. I would recommend this heated mattress pad.

Generally a nice purchase. The pad itself is very comfortable, fits extremely well on the mattress and the controllers work nicely. Warmth is excellent – in fact – I rarely turn it above 2, and then often turn it off after an hour or so. Setup is simple. The “minor” issue is a relatively soft “hum” when it cycles on and off. I use a memory foam pillow. If I sleep on my side with my ear on the pillow I can hear it. It is not awful. And I have decided to ignore it, though the first night it did wake me up! I AM getting used to the hum (sounds like a DC hum) and it rarely bothers me now. If you sleep with a regular down or other similar pillow it is hard to hear. In addition, if I sleep face-up, I cannot hear it at all.So a nice product. Definitely not worth returning; as I think the hum may be characteristic of the unit. I do recommend it. Finally, keep in mind I am a light sleeper and tend to “listen” to my house, so I hear most everything.

After about six years of service my old mattress warmer finally died and I wasn’t looking forward to cold nights so I went in search of a replacement. The picture showed a single controller unit that cost about $50 so I wasn’t expecting a great deal. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and there was a beautiful two controller unit with a price tag of well over two hundred dollars. Score one for the home team. The unit has a plush top and a controller that has a ‘Preheat’ mode in addition to the standard controller modes. The unit heats quickly and the wires are almost undetectable. If I were to use a thicker sheet set, such as a flannel set, I don’t think I could feel them at all.So far, the only con, and it is a small one, is that the ‘Control Cord Connector’ is on the top of the mattress warmer and not on the side panel. Naturally it is at the foot of the bed between the two heated areas but if you toss and turn you can bump into it with your feet.Overall, I would give this an excellent rating. Hopefully I will feel the same way this coming winter.

The question we always debated was, heated mattress pad or blanket. Heat from the bottom and warm the mattress or heat from the top and heat the top covers. The mattress pad won out and we couldn’t be happier. The pre heat option is the best feature. It’s so nice to get into a warm bed. Very easy to use and set up.We purchased this in November of 2017. In December of 2018 one of the controllers stopped functioning. The warranty is real. Sunbeam replaced the pad quickly. It is nice to know a company stands behind their products. No hassle. Amazon has records of all of your purchases for documentation purposes.Despite the control issue I would highly recommend this mattress pad. My wish list to improve this product would be to have it “Alexa” controlled. Start the heating without getting up off the couch:)
