I like a very, very soft bed. I purchased a memory foam mattress and it was like laying on a brick. So I got this 3″ topper and solved the problem. It says to let it sit for 1 to 3 days, but it expanded to 3″ in hours so I put the topper on my bed underneath a 2″ down alternative mattress pad, which I already had on the bed that did almost nothing for the firmness. I laid a top sheet over that, not a fitted sheet, and now my bed is very squishy how I like it. I am 5’5″, 155 pounds, have a bad back, hip, and knee, and I broke my tailbone a week ago. I have been sleeping with a pillow between my knees for over a year and hobbling out of bed every morning. With the combination of the two toppers, I sank down and it contoured supportively to my body. I couldn’t feel the firm mattress beneath, had no pain at pressure points while I slept, turned only once during the night, and I didn’t even need the pillow. I didn’t hobble this morning, even with the broken tailbone. I can’t speak to the longevity. And I can’t speak to the coolness because of having the mattress pad on top.

Second purchase, first purchase was 2018. I purchased the topper twin xl for a adjustable king size bed. The topper has been great, comfortable, good value for the quaility. My husband has a physical job and struggles with back pain and arthritis. It is important for him to be able to sleep well.

For the price, I was expecting this to be pretty average, but it really is super comfortable. My mattress is over the hill as far as mattress age goes, so I wanted this to extend the life a little longer. It does that and more. I used to wake up with back pain all the time but haven’t since I got this a couple months ago. My only issue with this mattress pad is a sizing issue: it is just a little smaller than my queen size mattress, and it is constantly shifting on the bed as a result. The underside has a grippy rubber lining which doesn’t seem to prevent this, but does make it more difficult to adjust. Thus 4/5 stars.
