I prefer this SoftHeat Mattress Pad with Safe & Warm Low Voltage Technology because 1). the Low Voltage Technology & 2). never feel the actual wires. It seems to have a “life-span” of only about 3 years before I have to replace it, but for the reasons stated above, I prefer it to the other heated mattress pads that are similar to a giant heating pad on your bed. When I first got one of these several years ago, I questioned whether it was actually working because you don’t necessarily feel any warmth to your touch until you actually are lying down on the sheets, but it definitely keeps me warm on those cold Chicago winter nights.
