So let’s get the criticisms out-of-the-way first. This bed took six hours for me to assemble. Steps five and steps, 19 CANNOT be done with one person. I had to enlist the help of the neighbor to hold pieces in place for the assembly – I mean, who can hold a piece underneath and screw it in from the top while holding two other pieces together From the base?That being said, everything was labeled really well! I did have to disassemble two sections and reassemble them in the right way because the instructions were not completely clear for part of the steps and putting two things backwards didn’t work, but fortunately the Next steps in the instructions caught the issue right away, so I wasn’t too far into it when I made the mistake.Most of the pilot holes are perfect and make things very easy. The instructions did say to hand tighten the bolts and screws, but there is absolutely no way I could have hand tightened everything so I did use a power drill with an Allen bit and with a screw.I did have to remove some of the stickers because the parts labels showed after assembly. The backing does not have any kind of pilot holes so the drill with screwdriver bit was absolutely necessary.Despite the aggravation and difficulty putting it together, the bed is beautiful! The folding hinges felt very tight when I was putting them on, but once they were attached, everything folds and unfolds easily with no binding. Our son visited last weekend and slept on the bed with a 6 inch folding mattress and was perfectly comfortable. I love how much space the folding bed provides when it is, plus the desk and built-in side tables and power outlets are very convenient.The bed is very sturdy and I have absolutely no worries that it is not going to stand up to use – it feels like high-quality wood and has lots of points of connection.
