I received this when the temperature outside was still getting well below freezing each night. In other words, I don’t need this right now and it’s hard to properly judge a cooling item like this. I’m giving my first impression here and I will update it once the weather is warmer and I can get a better feel for how well it performs when it’s actually needed. So far, I’m happy with its performance. Currently, my only concern is that it seems to be a bit cheaply-made. When I push the hoses onto the inlet and outlet tubes, the whole side of the evaporative unit moves a bit. Since you need to remove the hoses every time you clean the device, I’m currently trying to figure out if I can get a little more tubing that I can just leave in place and some kind of easy connector. It would prevent me from ever using the fan unit alone without the pad as an evaporative cooling device, but since we live in a higher humidity area, that’s not happening anyway.______________________________OTHER REVIEWSI had read a lot of reviews of similar products from the same company, Adamson. There were various negative comments. The most concerning ones were about it growing mold and about the drain valve coming out and leaking water everywhere. I felt like these were acceptable risks that I could deal with since I knew they were potential issues. Before warm weather hits, I’m going to find some plastic tub that’s big enough to hold the water in case the drain stopper doesn’t hold. It’s only about as wide across as a pencil, a tiny little thing that does look rather questionable. As for mold, I’m going to have to be very diligent in draining everything and cleaning it according to directions.HOW IT WORKS/ HUMIDITY ISSUESIt uses evaporative cooling to keep the water in the pad a little cooler than room temperature. The pump in the fan unit cycles the cooler water through the pad. That means it’s normally putting extra humidity out into the room. Generally, that would be really bad in a lot of areas of the country that already have high humidity. That would include us. When humidity can be in the 80% range in the summer, the last thing I need is more humidity in the air. It’s also one of the reasons that some people have mold issues with this kind of device. There’s one catch with this particular unit, though. You can turn the fan off and still have the pump cycle water through the pad. It’s not going to be actively cooling the water, but it also means that it’s not going to be spewing out much extra moisture. My intended solution here in a high humidity area is to load the top of the fan unit with ice in the evening. There’s a tray at the top so the ice cubes won’t automatically fall into the basin, but as they melt they will add cool water. I’ll have to make sure that the water level is low enough in the evening to accept the melted ice cubes, but otherwise I expect this to work well. I have read another review of a similar product where someone did this and was very happy with the device that way. I’m still going to do regular draining and cleaning, but I do not expect this to be nearly as likely to grow mold since the fan’s not running. Please note that it’s not a method that the manufacturer suggests so I can’t guarantee exactly how well it will work. I desperately need some way to keep cool in the summer, though, and I haven’t seen any solutions that seemed better to me than this one. Here’s hoping for good results. Again, I will update when it’s warm enough to actually need this.

I sleep very hot and this mattress pad has been a godsend. It’s not perfect. The water level is a little hard to read and maybe the remote could be a little more sensitive, but I have slept better in the last week since I’ve had this item then I have slept in a year so yay

Does the job really well, no more sweats- sleeping better, no more waking up hot. Easy to put together. Best value for money. Highly recommended!

It really works. I’ve been having the worst night sweats because of bad dreams when using this, I barely sweat. It’s so nice. It’s really easy to assemble and put up. Just make sure that the unit is higher than your bed to allow the water to flow better into the pad. I’m really thankful for this contraption and it wasn’t a horrible price either. I don’t hear any noise from it. It’s pretty quiet.
